Charles Barkley trolls Warriors, dubs Thunder NBA’s deepest team

Charles Barkley continues to slight the Golden State Warriors.

NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley has never been known to hold his tongue as the veteran NBA broadcaster has a penchant for making hilarious comments as well as boneheaded ones.

Tuesday night saw Barkley make a boneheaded one as he continues to throw heaping piles of disrespect in the direction of Steve Kerr, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

The Round Mound of Rebound isn’t convinced the Warriors are the NBA’s deepest team despite being one win away from setting a new NBA record with 73 wins. Barkley thinks it’s another Western Conference team who has the deepest team in the league.

And no it’s not the San Antonio Spurs, but rather the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Is this the most outlandish thing Barkley has ever said on the air? No, but is sure to be noticed in the Warriors locker room where they can use this as added motivation in their pursuit of winning back-to-back NBA championships.

The Thunder are a talented and deep team, but as Barkley even admits, they are dependent on their two All-Stars in Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.

That’s not a bad thing necessarily considering Westbrook has 18 triple doubles this season and could steal an MVP vote or two away from Curry and Durant is a former scoring champion and MVP.

But then again, the Thunder aren’t on the precipice of NBA history either, so it’s hard to agree with Barkley’s claim they are the deepest team in the association.

Had he said something along the lines of the Thunder being a legit contender to knocking off the Warriors in the NBA Playoffs, that would be one thing, but there should be little debate after what Curry and the Warriors did this year who the deepest team in the league is.
