Coaching in the Power 5 shouldn’t be taken for granted. Here are the 10 head football coaches most on the hot seat entering the 2016 NCAA football season.

There are only 64 head coaching jobs in the Power 5, 65 to include the independent juggernaut Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Since the dawn of the College Football Playoff in 2014, it has been paramount to win ones Power 5 conference (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and SEC) to have a legitimate shot at winning a national championship on the gridiron.

While each of the Power 5 conferences boast their fair share of blue-blood programs and teams at all-time heights, there are programs that either Power 5 doormats or just not meeting up to the standards set by this traditional power’s expectations.

For this reason, the head coaching carousel is always rotating in college football, with either top coordinators or other on-the-rise coaches replacing men who just weren’t getting it done for a major institution’s college football team.

As it is with every season, a handful of head football coaches will begin the 2016 NCAA season on somewhat of a hot seat, knowing that his team has to perform in the fall to assure that he will be returning to coach the team in 2017.

Without further ado, here are 10 head football coaches in the Power 5 that have been on the job since at least 2014 that are feeling the most pressure to have a strong 2016 campaign. Here are 10 men whose seats are starting to get a tad toasty.
