Evan Fournier will be returning to the Orlando Magic after agreeing to a five-year contract

The Orlando Magic and Evan Fournier have agreed to a five-year contract worth $85 million, according to ESPN. Fournier has spent the last two seasons in Orlando after being traded from the Denver Nuggets. The Magic extended a qualifying offer to Fournier which allowed them to match any offer sheet.

Last season, Fournier averaged 15.4 points per game for a Magic team that only won 35 games. The Magic recently traded Victor Oladipo to the Oklahoma City Thunder so this hints that they believe in Fournier enough to make him a focal point on their team. Not to mention sending away guys like Tobias Harris, Ersan Ilyasova and first-round pick Domantas Sabonis

For those who do not know who Evan Fournier is, you will soon. Fournier is a shooting guard who can hurt you with the jump shot or with the drive. He shot 40% from three-point land this season while shooting 50% from two.

A max contract was set to be sent Fournier’s way which would have been worth around $95 million dollars over four years so this leaves the Magic with many possibilities.

This is a team that has acquired Serge Ibaka via trade and signed DJ Augustine as a free agent so they are trying their best to get back to the winning ways of many years ago.

They still have room to exceed the cap extend his contract because his hold is just over $5 million which leaves them room to sign another player if they want. With this deal, the Magic have made it known that they are all in on the 23-year old guard.
