Johhny Manziel is not saying he’s never drinking again.

Johnny Manziel is having a whirlwind of a year. The former Heisman Trophy winner was released by the Browns in March and his own father has said that he’s a “druggie” who “needs help”.

Manziel once had so much promise coming out of Texas A & M after his red shirt sophomore year in 2014. There was even some talk that the Houston Texans should take Manziel with the #1 pick leading up to the draft.

Though after only two years in the NFL, “Johnny Football” is out of the league. To make things even worse for Manziel, his Browns jersey is now selling for only $1.99, though Manziel finds it hilarious instead of being ashamed.

Johnny Manziel has told TMZ in June that he would commit to staying sober starting June 1st and would look to getting back into football shape. Manziel recently released a statement through a spokesperson to update his status and stated “I’m actually doing well. I have good friends around me supporting what I do and I try to support them in what they want to do. I’m not saying I’m never drinking again, but for now just mostly being healthy. I’ve got a killer gym in my house and I can spend time working out.”

It’s good to see that Manziel is somewhat turning his life around. He’s seems to have given up drinking, for now at least, and is committed to getting back into football shape. Getting back into shape may be the easier for Manziel, as getting a team to take  a shot on him is the hard part.
