Jon Jones says he didn’t take performance-enhancing drugs, but insinuates Brock Lesnar did.

They have been the talk of mixed martial arts: performance-enhancing drugs, also known as PEDs.

Ever since the United S4tates Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) got involved with the UFC, you have seen big names in the organization getting busted for PEDs. On one hand, it has been great to see the sport getting cleaned up, but on the other, it has been hard to watch some of the biggest names in the sport getting flagged for banned substances.

Those blemishes will forever hold an asterisk on their careers.

Former light heavyweight champion and arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all-time, Jon Jones, was taken off of the prized UFC 200 card because of a failed drug test given by USADA. Along with missing out on getting his light heavyweight belt back from current champion Daniel Cormier, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) decided to temporarily suspend him following his anti-doping violation.

There were rumors running all over about which substances Jones had failed for, but we found out that he was flagged for estrogen blockers, which are an important part of using PEDs.

Jones continues to defend his innocence, but he will have a harder time fighting the asterisk next to his name for potential PED use than any fight he has ever been in.

Jones took to twitter to respond to fans about being flagged for the banned substances by USADA. He started by replying to a fan who said, “@JonnyBones the man built for great things, yet throws it all away…. How many comebacks can you have in one career.”

Jones would go on to defend himself against fans who brought up the steroid accusations.

Clearly Jones feels ‘the system’ will show that he did not take steroids and isn’t the cheater many now consider him. Sticking on the topic of steroids, Jones was asked about Brock Lesnar, who also was flagged by USADA before his UFC 200 fight.

The fan asked him the following, “@JonnyBones Do you think Brock took steroids? Or is he in the same boat ? He’s always looked that way.” Jones had an interesting response regarding the former UFC heavyweight champion.

It seems as if Jones is insinuating that while he did not take PEDs, Lesnar did. However, just like a cliff-hanger in your favorite T.V. show, Jones left it at that and we will have to wait and find out.
