Robert Griffin III and quarterback turned wide receiver Terrelle Pryor have shown an instant rapport, as evidenced by a long touchdown pass Thursday night.

Robert Griffin III was inactive for every game of the 2015 season with the Washington Redskins, and after the inevitable parting of ways, he landed with the Cleveland Browns. He has already been named the starting quarterback by new head coach Hue Jackson in a show of faith in the 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year.

In Cleveland’s second preseason game Thursday night, against the Atlanta Falcons, RG3 again showed he can still throw a beautiful deep ball.

Griffin and Pryor connected for a 49-yard completion in Cleveland’s first preseason game, but it didn’t go for a touchdown. Pryor is still attempting to make the transition from quarterback to wide receiver, and he notably beat Falcons’ No. 1 cornerback Desmond Trufant on the play Thursday night.

Pryor currently projects to be a starter for the Browns, so he and Griffin should see plenty of action together in next week’s third preseason game. If they can carry their budding rapport into the regular season, the Browns’ offense will obviously be a lot better for it.

Cleveland is in one of the tougher divisions in the NFL, so their win-loss record may not reflect much improvement this season. But they could have a very exciting offense, with a lot of intriguing young players in place, and Browns’ fans may be able to start shutting down the NFL section of the “Factory of Sadness” before too long.
