Colin Kaepernick has been a lightning rod for criticism lately, and a former Green Bay Packer took to Twitter to offer his.

The decision by Colin Kaepernick to sit during the national anthem has brought a wide range of opinions on the matter. Leaving aside any subsequent action he may take, one prevalent criticism is the method Kaepernick has chosen to protest racial oppression and call for change.

Now, a photo has emerged showing Kaepernick wearing socks depicting police officers as pigs. He is slated for extended action in the San Francisco 49ers’ preseason finale, and has a remote chance to usurp Blaine Gabbert on the depth chart. It just so happens to be Military Appreciation Night for the San Diego Chargers on Thursday. All eyes will surely be on Kaepernick, before and during the game.

Social media gives everyone a voice to criticize anything, or anyone. Former Green Bay Packers’ tight end Tom Crabtree offered his thoughts about Kaepernick on Thursday.

It’s no secret Kaepernick’s play has dropped off over the last couple years, as his limitations have been exposed. Being benched for Gabbert last season immediately looked like the low point, but that may be about to change with his NFL future in doubt.

Kaepernick’s relationship with the 49ers’ organization has deteriorated greatly, and it’s possible this is all a ploy on his end to force his way out. But if a recent piece from Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman is to be believed, anonymous quotes and all, other NFL front offices aren’t too thrilled with Kaepernick’s recent displays.
