Is Notre Dame truly out of the College Football Playoff race? After losing its second game of the season, this time to No. 12 Michigan State at home, the Fighting Irish have dropped to 1-2 and are now out of the AP rankings. Many people believe their playoff run is done, but winning out would change their minds.

DeShone Kizer is one of the top quarterbacks in the nation, passing for 715 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions while completing 63 percent of his passes. His dual-threat ability can help the Irish in the long run. He’s rushed for 129 yards and four touchdowns on the season.

Equanimeous St. Brown is Kizer’s favorite receiver through three games, catching 15 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Keep an eye on Josh Adams as well. The sophomore running back has rushed for 178 yards, a team-high, and he’s caught eight passes for 62 yards and a score.

Daniel Jones leads the way for 1-2 Duke. The Blue Devils have been disappointing to this point in the season, but a win over Notre Dame could change the momentum in a big way.

Jones has passed for 800 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions on a 61 percent completion rate. Anthony Nash, Johnathan Lloyd, and T.J. Rahming are the top wide receivers and all have over 150 yards.

Jela Duncan leads the run game with 193 yards and three touchdowns on 5.5 yards per carry while Jones also has three touchdowns and is second on the squad with 81 yards.
