1. Jim Tressel

Jim Tressel will be eligible to coach again next season. Before anyone calls such a move crazy, consider the fact that Tressel was one of the most accomplished coaches during his tenure at Ohio State. He knows how to coach in a crowded Midwest region and could help bring the best talent to Notre Dame.

For those that are worried about his past, the stiff penalty he endured that led to him being ousted by the Buckeyes has changed him. He’s going to look to make a mark and prove that he can still coach the best if he gets his shot again.

Notre Dame needs to take a chance on a coach that’s going to give them the best chance at competing for a National Championship. That man is Tressel and he brings the demeanor that Notre Dame loves in a head coach.

It’s certainly a long shot, but it could end up being tremendous timing that he can coach again next season. He has a National Championship to his name and a pedigree and that’s something that the Fighting Irish need in their next head coach.
