N.C. State and Notre Dame are playing through awful weather conditions stemming from Hurricane Matthew.

There are bad weather conditions and then there are the conditions N.C. State and Notre Dame are playing through today. The game is being played at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh where the field can best be described as a puddle thanks to Hurricane Matthew. The Hurricane has caused flash flooding around the stadium, forcing many to question why the game is being played.

You ever heard of a Slip ‘N Slide? That’s the best way to describe the field. Here’s a view to give you an idea of the conditions:

The game is coming down to which team can handle the conditions better. Players are doing their best to make plays but can’t find footing due to large amounts of rain on the ground. When tackles are made players end up sliding an extra five yards. The LSU/Florida game was cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew and it’s looking like it would’ve been wise to do the same with N.C. State/Notre Dame.

It’s tough to argue that the conditions are even safe for the players. When player safety comes into question it’s really hard to support a game like this even being played. Although it would have been less than ideal, relocating this game to a different location would have also been an option.

You can’t even argue that things may clear up as the game goes on because the weather radar is looking awful:

Amazingly enough, N.C. State has actually scored points in the game.
