4. Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns haven’t been without talent since Steve Nash left, but they never put it all together. Injuries to Brandon Knight and Eric Bledsoe, and chemistry issues with the Morris twins clouded their situation, though. They have plenty of young talent now, that could be used to bring in a top veteran player. Would that work for LaMarcus Aldridge?

A deal for the 31-year-old could revolve around 2016 draft pick Marquese Chriss. He’s a fellow power forward that could develop in San Antonio with Tim Duncan gone. The Suns would still have Dragan Bender to make their four spot of the future as well. They could absorb most of Aldridge’s deal and maybe could make this work with a pick added in.

A second option could be swapping Knight and a pick for Aldridge. This would free up more minutes for Devin Booker, who showed plenty of promise in his rookie season. The older of the two former Kentucky stars has dealt with injuries and is somewhat of a proven product already.

Adding Knight to the Spurs would make them more of a guard-oriented team. He could rotate with Danny Green, Patty Mills, and Tony Parker to create a formidable backcourt and help take this new-look Spurs team in a different direction.

Putting Aldridge on the Suns wouldn’t necessarily end their rebuilding phase, but it would fast-forward it. He’s still a talented veteran that could balance out the roster in Phoenix while still keeping a few pieces around.
