Anthony Randolph showcases himself with EuroLeague block of the year (video)

Former NBA lottery pick Anthony Randolph is currently playing overseas, and he offered a serious candidate for EuroLeague block of the year on Friday.

When we last saw Anthony Randolph in the NBA, he was averaging 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game over 43 games (five starts; 12.3 minutes per game) for the Denver Nuggets during the 2013-14 season.

The No. 14 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors never found his way stateside, playing for four teams over six NBA seasons. He landed with Lokomotiv Kuban in Russia for two seasons after that 2013-14 campaign, and Randolph currently suits up for Real Madrid in the Europe’s Liga ACB.

On Friday, during the second quarter of what would become a 102-63 win for Real Madrid over FC Barcelona, Randolph did this to fellow ex-NBA big man Joey Dorsey.

Dorsey clearly went down the lane with bad intentions regarding the rim, surely thinking he would be relatively uncontested by the time he finished. But Randolph challenged Dorsey, and refused to allow himself to be put on any posters overseas or anywhere else in the world.

Randolph’s pure athletic ability was never really a big question during his stint the NBA, so any teams that see his latest EuroLeague exploits won’t be surprised. But if he wants another shot in the league at some point, plays like his savage rejection of Dorsey will not hurt his chances.
