The Iowa State Cyclones will welcome the Texas Tech Red Raiders to town this weekend. Here’s how you can watch Saturday afternoon’s Big 12 contest.

In a case of a game that somebody had to win, the Iowa State Cyclones (2-8) beat the Kansas Jayhawks 31-24 last Saturday for their first conference win this season. Things are not going great in Matt Campbell’s first season as head coach, but Iowa State’s final two games this season will be at home. In front of a supportive fan base, the Cyclones can play spoiler and finish the season on a high note.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-6) take on Iowa State having lost five of their last six games, with only a road win at TCU mixed in. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes II leads the FBS in passing yards with 4,247, but a defense that is dead last in the country in total defense (541 yards per game) and 125th in scoring defense (42.1 points per game) obviously leaves a lot to be desired.

Cyclones’ sophomore quarterback Jacob Park has seen extensive action over the last three games, starting the last two, with six touchdown passes and two interceptions over that span (90 pass attempts). Park should start ahead of junior Joel Lanning again this week, but some sort of rotation under center is likely to continue.

With Texas Tech needing a win to maintain a chance to go to a bowl, and Iowa State playing mostly for pride, there are clearly games with plenty more at stake on Saturday’s schedule. But defense is typically optional in the Big 12, so points should be aplenty all afternoon in Ames.
