The Dallas Stars proved that nobody is off limits for their trolling, not even Donald Trump.

If the Dallas Stars are known for anything other than the most controversial goal in Stanley Cup history, it’s their relentless trolling. During games, the Stars will troll anyone and anything about their opponent. They have been fearless, mocking Justin Bieber and even the Dallas Cowboys in the past.

However, on Saturday against the Washington Capitals, the Stars took aim at President Donald Trump. They proved no one is safe to their antics, even if you’re the President of the United States.

In case you missed why this is funny, earlier in the day, Trump’s spokesman Sean Spicer made an outrageous claim about the attendance numbers for his inauguration.

Despite evidence to the contrary, he claimed it was the largest audience to ever witness a presidential inauguration. Obviously, this isn’t true.

Even though Dallas might have won the game on the jumbotron video screen, they didn’t win on the scoreboard. After taking a 3-1 lead, much like the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Indians, the Stars couldn’t hang onto the lead. The Capitals scored on consecutive power plays in the third period. In overtime, center Jay Beagle won the game for Washington.

It has been that kind of season for the Stars. After many considered them a Stanley Cup favorite back in October, the team just hasn’t gotten going. Their blue line, weakened by the departures of Alex Goligoski and Jason Demers, has been less than stellar.

Moreover, the Stars’ offense has been cursed by numerous injuries, though they’re still scoring at a decent rate. However, their biggest issue has been their goaltending. Maybe they should take a page out of Trump’s book and build a wall around the goal.
