After a loss to the Denver Nuggets on Monday night, Kevin Durant told the home crowd exactly what he thinks.

Coming off a high of win Saturday night in long-awaited return of Kevin Durant to Oklahoma City, the Golden State Warriors traveled to take on the Denver Nuggets Monday night. What looked like a mismatch became a 132-110 loss for the Warriors, with Klay Thompson and others out, as the Nuggets tied an NBA record with 24 made three-pointers on 40 attempts.

The Warriors are currently the top seed in the Western Conference with a 46-9 record, followed more closely than you might expect by the San Antonio Spurs (four games back), and the Nuggets’ victory Monday night gave them a two-game hold on the No. 8 seed.

So a playoff matchup between the Warriors and the Nuggets would occur right now, if the season ended today (which of course it doesn’t). Coming off the floor after the game in Denver, Durant said exactly how he felt about the loss and the prospect of a playoff rematch (NSFW)

Returning to the NBA Finals, and winning a title for the second time in three years, is definitely the top priority for Golden State. The absence of Thompson in particular on Monday night, due to what was deemed to be a sore right heel, points to a Feb. 13 regular season game in Denver not being a similarly high priority. A relative let down after the high of beating the Oklahoma City Thunder was also virtually certain, and the Nuggets were a fluky 60 percent from beyond the arc too.

Durant seems to be starting to embrace a bit of a heel role, which is a turn from his generally reserved nature as a humble superstar. More fairly profane quotes like the one in Denver may be coming, and someone is sure to capture them.
