As Robert Griffin III awaits a decision from the Cleveland Browns on his immediate playing future, perhaps hanging out at a college track isn’t the best idea.

After an injury-shortened and disappointing 2016 season with the Cleveland Browns, Robert Griffin III is surely trying to stay in shape this offseason. Having access to facilities at Florida State University, where his girlfriend Grete Sadeiko is on the track team, seems to be part of that effort this year. The Browns have a $750,000 roster bonus tied to Griffin that comes due on Mar. 11, or they can cut him before that point without ramifications.

Griffin was in Tallahassee last Monday night, using the track stadium at Florida State alongside his girlfriend. After apparently bumping into another runner, surely accidentally, Griffin was involved in a verbal confrontation with that man.

TMZ released the video clip on Sunday.

Sadeiko can apparently be seen restraining Griffin, who was clearly mad and quite possibly ready to defend himself physically. It’s hard to get much from a 23-second video clip like this one, and know what all came before and perhaps after it, but TMZ also spoke to Sadeiko and got some quotes about the altercation from her perspective..

"“The [other guy] got heated and got way too close to [Robert] but Robert didn’t touch the guy not once nor put his hands on him.”"

"“The guy tried to approach him again while Robert was walking away. I went between so the guy wouldn’t do anything stupid and that was the end of it.”"

It seems likely whoever the other man was recognized Griffin, and was trying to get him to fight. The intelligence of being on a college campus that’s not your alma mater to work out, apart from wanting to spend time with his girlfriend, can be questioned too. Sedeiko is not going to say anything to disparage Griffin or paint him as equally guilty, but this whole thing seems sure to blow over quickly.
