The Vancouver Canucks are clearly moving into sell mode during trade deadline week, and goaltender Ryan Miller may now be on the move.

For the second time in as many nights, the Vancouver Canucks made a trade Tuesday night. Winger Jannik Hansen was sent to the San Jose Sharks for winger Nikolay Goldobin and a conditional fourth-round pick. On Monday night the Canucks trade winger Alex Burrows to the Ottawa Senators for 19-year old center Jonathan Dahlen, so with just three wins now in their last 10 games they are a clear trade deadline seller.

Veteran goaltender Ryan Miller is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so he automatically stands out as a trade candidate. He does have a no-trade clause, but the opportunity to even be a backup on a Stanley Cup contending team may make that less of a roadblock than it seems.

According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the Canucks are looking into trading Miller. The Sharks and Calgary Flames are reportedly among the teams looking for a goaltender, and the Edmonton Oilers could be looking for a better backup to starting goalie Cam Talbot.

The Vancouver Province has added the Los Angeles Kings as a team that was in on Miller a couple weeks ago, before they of course acquired Ben Bishop from the Tampa Bay Lightning. That feels like a missed opportunity for the Canucks, even if Miller and Bishop are both headed for free agency.

Miller has allowed 10 goals in his last three games, in a case of bad timing for his trade value, and overall he’s not having a great season (16-18-4, .915 save percentage, 2.66 goals against average). But he could be one of the bigger names moved in the last hours before Wednesday afternoon’s trade deadline, as multiple contending teams look to upgrade their depth between the pipes.
