The move to Las Vegas gains momentum for the Raiders as Bank of America agrees to finance the stadium.

California is becoming congested with football teams. Los Angeles now has two of its own, San Francisco obviously has the 49ers and, of course, the Oakland Raiders. If professional football in parts of California seemed a bit heavier than traffic in L.A. than the organization in Oakland will ease your mind. Because, according to a beat writer in L.A., the Raiders have become one step closer to relocating to Nevada.

Though Raider Nation might not be too happy about potentially losing its team, it goes to show how flexible the ligaments of the NFL is becoming. By moving to Las Vegas, the Raiders would join a new NHL franchise, the Black Knights. As to whether or not the Raiders will keep their name and change it into something that would eventually blend in with the Black Knights theme is unimportant. But for Bank of America, it’s a win-win situation for now.

The city may be home to the hottest team in high school football (Bishop Gorman), but overall, the city’s in need of some help. And with the addition of the Vegas Black Knights, Bank of America places its own bet in a crippling American town that’s overwhelmed with tourists and cluttered with casinos. Vegas is also untapped territory for a bank, whose headquartered in North Carolina. With this business move in front of them, it lends them some good publicity.

Even though they’re not destined for Vegas this season, it’s goes without saying that the Oakland Raiders will welcome in the 2017-18 season with some much-needed momentum. Their go-to guy in David Carr, who sustained an injury late last season, will likely return. Likewise, the team’s leading rusher (Murray) and receiver (Cooper) will get a chance at redemption as they eye the AFC West’s best team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
