Jordan Crawford is back in the NBA!

Jordan Crawford is one of the most exciting players to ever play in the NBA. He’s one of those players that believes he’s the best player on the court at all times, and not just as a confidence booster. He fully believes he’s better than the LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Russell Westbrook’s out there. Absolutely nothing grounds him and he’ll shoot as much as he feels the need to. Unfortunately, despite his confidence, he didn’t pan out in the NBA his first go around and had to go overseas for two years.

However, Crawford’s time overseas is officially over! He signed a 10-day contract with the Pelicans and impressed so much New Orleans has decided to give him a full two year contract. This is a fairly rare occurrence with 10-day contract players who usually at most will get a contract for the rest of a season. Crawford skipped that whole process and immediately earned a spot on next year’s roster.

This is a really surprising move by the Pelicans. They had Omri Casspi, but waived him shortly after an injury and have generally not invested in players long term. Crawford has been very good for them in his short time with the team, but it’s very uncharacteristic for them to not just give Crawford a contract for the rest of this season. They must be extremely happy with how he’s played for them so far and want to see what he can bring to the team next year.

With Crawford, the Pelicans get not only one of the most confident players in the NBA but a consistent scorer. Their offense has struggled for much of the season and they lost a lot of backcourt depth when they made the DeMarcus Cousins trade. Crawford, who is averaging 14 points and shooting a blistering 51 percent from 3-point range, will immediately help their offense.
