It looks like star running back, Marshawn Lynch, is serious about an NFL comeback after all.

Former Seahawks star running back, Marshawn Lynch, is looking to return to the NFL. There’s been many reports about the running back making his return and now it’s gaining traction.

Visiting with the Raiders is a huge step in the direction of returning to the NFL for Lynch. It’s been rumored for months that he’d like to play for his hometown team and he might just get his wish after all.

The Seahawks still own the rights to Lynch, but seem to be okay with their former star running back making a visit to a different team today.

Of course, the Seahawks could simply trade Lynch to the Raiders and gain compensation for a player who they thought would never suit up again. With the addition of ex-Packers running back, Eddie Lacy, they might be willing to go this route as well.

The 30-year-old Lynch, who turns 31 on April 22, is one season removed from an injury-riddled season that saw him only be able to suit up for seven games. Still when fully healthy, Lynch is arguably the best running back in the league.

The Raiders said goodbye to three-year starter, Latavius Murray, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings in free agency. The team’s current running back room is very unproven with the likes of Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington and Taiwan Jones, so the addition of a healthy Lynch would be huge for their offense.

This very well could’ve been Lynch’s plan all along. Take a season off to regain his health fully and ride off into the sunset with his hometown team in the Raiders.

Unlike the Seahawks, the Raiders boast one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. That should also help sway Lynch’s decision upon returning to the league he left just a season ago.

We’ll continue to monitor how this situation unfolds, but it looks as if Lynch will be playing in 2017.
