Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez became the team’s all-time leading scorer Monday night against the Boston Celtics, passing Buck Williams.

Coming into tonight’s game Brook Lopez was trailing Buck Williams by 21 points to become the Nets’ all-time leading scorer. Well, on Monday night, he hit this sweet turn around jumper to overtake Williams for the honor:

Lopez has been the Nets’ best player since he arrived to the team in 2008, where he was drafted 10th overall by them. Each season Lopez has added more and more to his game, and that has helped him average at least 20 points per game in four out of his nine seasons in the league. He has always had nice range for a center, but he took that to another level this season by consistently knocking the three point shot down this season.

Coming into tonight’s game, Lopez had hit 133 3-pointers this season. That is pretty remarkable considering he hadn’t hit more than two of them in any of his prior eight seasons. Lopez has been one of the lone bright spots during a disastrous season for the Nets, in which they hold the league’s worst record at 20-61.

Lopez was part of trade rumors earlier in the season as he has been for the last few years, but the Nets ultimately decided to keep him around yet again. Although his team will miss the playoffs for the sixth time out of the nine seasons he’s been there, he can still have this to look back on. He becomes the Nets all-time leading scorer with nobody who is currently on the team anywhere close to taking that honor away from him.
