Concealing injuries is not all that unique in the NFL, but a possible undiagnosed concussion for Tom Brady stands out.

NFL teams and players routinely conceal injuries, and play tricks with the weekly injury report. The New England Patriots are often suspected of such shenanigans, with a report filled with players who ultimately play without apparent issue.

Outside of a torn ACL in 2008, Tom Brady has not missed a game due to injury in his career. That’s not to say he doesn’t get banged up, with a couple stints on the injury report last season with knee and thigh issues.

Brady’s wife, Gisele Bundchen, appeared on CBS This Morning  early Wednesday. The conversation had a wider scope, but ultimately and unsurprisingly turned toward her husband. Then, an injury bombshell may have been dropped.

The revelation that Brady had a concussion as recently as last year comes with the knowledge he was never listed on an injury report with one. But Brady himself has acknowledged the reality of concussions, in an interview with ABC News in May of 2016. (h/t to Sports Illustrated)

"“It’s just part of life, you know, not only football, but contact sports,” Brady said, according to Sports Illustrated. “It’s part of people walking down the street. You run, you fall, you hit your head. There’s a lot of sports that are involved, but I think it’s good there’s more awareness than there’s been in the past. Women’s soccer and cycling, water polo, there’s a lot of sports.”"

It’s unclear if the league office will now investigate the Patriots for possibly publicly concealing a concussion for Brady. But it’s also possible Brady told his wife in a private moment, and no one else, and she has now made it public knowledge.
