How did the trifecta end up paying out for the 2017 Preakness Stakes at Pimlico?

The 2017 Preakness Stakes proved once again that winning the Triple Crown is truly a special feat in sports. Once again, there will be no Triple Crown winner this year. Always Dreaming got off to a great start at Pimlico, but it wasn’t mean to be.

Classic Empire was able to pass the Kentucky Derby champ and eventually, Always Dreaming fell completely off. Cloud Computing would make a huge push to steal the win away from Classic Empire and the Preakness Stakes guaranteed that the Belmont Stakes won’t have the same meaning.

It was also an unpredictable day on the track for gamblers. With Cloud Computing make a late run after not competing at the Kentucky Derby, it was rested enough to give those lucky enough to bet on him some cash. The trifecta ended up turning out 2-5-8 for $1,097.30.

So to those that felt Cloud Computing, Classic Empire and Senior Investment were going to finish in that order, ended up winning a good amount of money. As the shortest leg of the Triple Crown, the Preakness is always a race for speed. When it came down to it, Cloud Computing was the one that ended up taking home the victory.

Always Dreaming was the favorite coming into the race and although it ended up having a disappointing finish for John Velazquez, the horse showed early on the speed necessary to win. However, it didn’t have the speed late to bring home the win and bring home some trifecta wins for gamblers.
