San Jose Sharks to give away Marshawn Lynch bobblehead
Marshawn Lynch is sure to inspire Oakland Raiders fans this season, and the San Jose Sharks will look to tap into that fan base.
The Oakland Raiders will soon be moving to Las Vegas, much to the chagrin of a lot of local fans as the team is starting to get good again. Marshawn Lynch has come out of retirement and signed with his hometown team, so “Beast Mode” will be back in the NFL for at least one more season.
Lynch has already made a nice move for the local Bay Area community, buying a beloved soul-food restaurant in Emeryville from the retiring owner he has known since he was a kid. He also threw out the first pitch at an Oakland A’s game recently, so Lynch is quickly re-inserting himself in is hometown.
The San Jose Sharks are a perennial NHL playoff team, so they don’t have too much trouble filling SAP Center for home games. But during their own coming season, they’re sure to fill the building with a cool crossover promo.
On Saturday, Nov. 25 against the Winnipeg Jets, all fans in attendance will get a Marshawn Lynch “Beast Mode” bobblehead. Yes it says, “all fans.” The full listed seating capacity of SAP Center is 17,496, which means a lot of bobbleheads to be handed out. But it is also the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so unfortunately some unfilled seats in the building seems likely on a holiday weekend.

It’s unknown if Lynch himself will attend the game, and maybe take some sort of role (covert or otherwise) in giving away the bobbleheads to every fan that comes through the gates. But the Raiders have a Week 12 home game against the Denver Broncos the following afternoon, so Lynch and the team will be in town. So the opportunity is there for Lynch to attend that particular Sharks game without disrupting his work schedule, and it seems like a good bet he’ll be there.
