UFC fans have waited for over a year for the rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title, and UFC 214 delivered.

After the rematch between UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones for the belt was canceled last July, fight fans were as patient as possible as they waited for Jones’ suspension to be done and the title fight to finally happen. The two finally battled at UFC 214, and it did not disappoint.

The build-up was insane for the fight, with Jones holding plenty of confidence going in and Cormier playing the “heel” role like one of his favorite WWE wrestlers perfectly. The hype was incredible, and it was one of the most anticipated and most talked about fights in UFC history.

Cormier put up a solid fight through the first two rounds of the bout, but Jones remained calm, cool and collected throughout. Jones caught D.C. with a leg kick to the head and finished out the fight with some ferocious strikes on the ground in a vicious display.

Twitter was all over UFC 214 after such a long wait and had some great reactions to the win. To help you out, here are some of the best tweets to come out of Twitter tonight, including one from the number one contender in the light heavyweight division, Alexander Gustafsson.

Now, the question becomes what’s next for the light heavyweight division, with Jones officially back and the rematch now out of the way. There won’t be a trilogy fight after Jones’ victory, and the light heavyweight division is all over the place, with Gustafsson deserving a shot and Volkan Oezdemir’s big win over Jimi Manuwa.

Add in the fact that Jones called out Brock Lesnar for a super-fight upon Lesnar’s potential return to the Octagon, and there are seemingly endless possibilities for the new light heavyweight champion as he returns to the top of the company.
