Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Weekly Pickups-June 7

Now that school is out for you young owners, summer is officially here. Nothing is better to compliment this season than a dominant fantasy squad. Recently there have been a few hot streaks that are worth a definitive pickup. Interleague play is also back tomorrow and this is a big time for owners. New NL players will have DH roles while AL players may sit the bench or make positional changes. This can be a valuable couple of weeks for owners so pay close attention to any changes in lineups.
Dexter Fowler, COL OF
This is what you call a hot streak folks. Folwer has been absolutely on fire these past 10 days and his production needs to be picked up. In his current 9 game hitting streak, he is 17-32 with three triples, 3 bombs, 9 RBI’s, and 15 runs scored. Dexter went on a similar tear last year and he continued his torrent pace for a good length. I see Fowler being a very solid outfielder the rest of this season.
Justin Smoak, SEA 1B
Smoke is exactly what Smoak has been providing lately. In his last 15 games, he has 5 bombs 15 RBI’s and 9 walks. This big boy was a big prospect for the Rangers and Seattle traded Cliff Lee to get him so everyone knows he can play. But lately, he seems that he’s putting it all together lately and if he can keep this up, he will be valuable all season long. I’ve got faith in this kid.
Lonnie Chisenhall, CLE 3B
After Jack Hannahan hit the DL, it was all Lonnie time. So far since being called up, he’s hit .333 with 2 bombs and 3 RBI’s in 5 starts. If these Windians really want to keep pace in the AL Central, they need their lineup to produce runs and Chisenhall has potential to do just that. The 3rd base job isn’t all his yet so that’s the one thing I’m worried about, but for the time being, he definitely has value.
Chris Young, NYM SP
You remember this guy? The same one who use to pitch for the Padres and Rangers. Well he’s back. After being successful in his brief appearance last year with the Mets, he had to undergo shoulder surgery in the offseason. He got the call for the Mets Tuesday night and looked solid out there. He has shown flashes of productivity throughout his career and could definitely provide some good outings this season.
Trevor Bauer, ARZ SP
Okay I know I’ve had him him before and I was a little early on the trigger, but now reports are out that his call up is coming ‘soon’. Bauer is the top prospect in the organization and has major league stuff. The only reason that he hasn’t been up yet is because Wade Miley and Joe Saunders have had solid years so far. But either way, the time is near for Bauer and I’m all in on him this season and the future. If you didn’t take my advice before, snag him now before the rush comes.
Hello, Waiver Wire!
These are getting tougher and tougher each week because baseball is a crazy game. People won’t be able to hit the ball for a week and then the next day they’re hitting bombs. Here’s some guys though that I believe are going to stay in their slumps for awhile.
