There were several important potential fantasy contributors coming back from injury last night in the Major Leagues. Roy Oswalt was in the headlines winning his first start with the Rangers, but there were other important returns you can check out below that may create an opportunity to fix or upgrade your roster.

In this quick version of our daily sleeper central post you can find a full lineup of underowned standouts from Friday’s action who can possibly help your fantasy baseball team for the next few weeks or for the rest of the season.

Sleeper Starting Lineup

C– Salvador Perez – KC: (4.9%) A trendy sleeper pick before going down in the preseason, Perez went 2-4 in his season debut with a two-run homer for the Royals. He’s a potential top ten catcher the rest of the way.

1B– Matt Carpenter – Stl: (1.7%) Another player returning from the DL, Carpenter went 2-4 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI for St. Louis last night in KC. He takes back over at 1B for the demoted Matt Adams and looks to pick up where he left off. He’s now played 40 games this season and has a .296 average with 21 RBI, 18 runs, 16 extra-base hits, and three home runs.

2B– Brian Roberts – Bal: (26.5%) Roberts has been back for nine games and has a .270 average after a 2-4 game yesterday. He’s playing 2B and batting leadoff for the Orioles on a full-time basis.

3B– Alberto Callaspo – LAA: (0.0%) Callaspo had his second solid game in a row going 2-3 with two runs, a double, and an RBI. He may be starting to turn things around after a rough start offensively

SS– Andrelton Simmons – Atl: (6.6%) In Boston last night, Simmons went 1-3 with a double and pair of RBI to help the Braves to a 4-1 win. He’s hit .323 with six extra-base hits and 10 RBI in his first 18 games in the Bigs.

OF– Gregor Blanco – SF: (12.2%) After a slow week, Blanco rewarded faithful owners by going 2-4 with two RBI, a walk, and three stolen bases. He has six steals now in his last ten games and has 12 on the year while leading off for the Giants.

OF– Franklin Gutierrez – Sea: (0.3%) Homering for the second consecutive game, Guteirrez went 4-5 scoring twice and driving in two. He’s back in the outfield everyday for the Mariners and their hoping he provides some much-needed pop for their offense.

OF– Will Venable – SD: (1.2%) Leading off for SD, Venable went 3-4 with three runs, a double, a walk, a stolen base, and an RBI. He had been struggling, but hopefully this is the turn around he needed to get going.

AL Starting Pitcher-Jarrod Parker-Oak: (35.7%) After last night’s six plus innings of one-run work, Parker continues to emerge as a good spot-starter and AL-only option. He is one of the emerging starters to grab ASAP if you can.

NL Starting Pitcher– Jair Jurrjens – Atl: (8.7%) In his first start since struggling mightily earlier this season, Jurrjens went 7.2 innings allowing just a run on three hits and a walk while striking out four. He may be worth a look in his next outing against Arizona, but don’t go all in until these results become the norm.
