Pick 20: Denver Nuggets
Selection: Evan Fournier
Bryan Rosa – A Royal Pain
Really wasn’t expecting Fournier to go this high, but Fournier gives the Nuggets an outside threat with a known “clutchness” to his name. Still needs to improve his shot to be effective in the NBA though, despite being a solid scorer. Not sure he was really worth trading down for, but, thought the Nuggets may go in a different direction. He’s a few years away from playing effective minutes though.
Grade: C
Bryan Wendland-Roberto Gato
I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know much about this guy, but everything I read says he’s athletic, can score and can get to the line. He’s young, he needs improvement in a lot of other areas and people wonder whether or not he’ll be in the NBA this season. I think he will be…
Grade: B
Jack Winter-Saving the Skyhook
Fournier’s an interesting pick here. The Nuggets have a glut of wing players and are in position to win now, so a guard like Fournier that needs to develop doesn’t make much sense. They need much more help on the inside than on the perimeter, and Arnett Moultrie would have been a good fit given his size and athleticism.
Grade: C
Quixem Ramirez- Air Alamo
Fournier can get to the rim consistently at the International level but I don’t think that will be the case in the NBA. Considering he doesn’t have much of a jumper, Fournier’s offensive game will be rendered mute when defenses pack the paint and force him to shoot.
Grade: C+
