Fantasy Baseball Starting Pitchers to use for Streaming- August 7

If your Monday is killing your fantasy baseball week’s pitching staff, don’t worry there’s four solid options that could help you out that are scheduled to start on Tuesday. These players are owned in under 50% of ESPN leagues, as all our daily picks are.

Here’s four starters scheduled to start who can help cure your fantasy team’s case of the Mondays.

The Pickups

Jeff Karstens – Pit: (4.9% owned in ESPN leagues) Karstens has won his last four decisions and has been especially good at home. In his three starts at PNC Park this year, he’s pitched 21 innings and has allowed just one run for a miniscule ERA of 0.43. He has a 14 to three strikeout to walk ratio and would seem to be in a good matchup as the Pirates open up a long homestand by welcoming in the Diamondbacks. The D-Backs are 25-29 on the road and the Bucs are 33-16 at home so Karstens makes a great pickup if you are looking for wins, ERA, WHIP, or just solid overall starts. His strikeout numbers are not incredible, but he can contribute in all other categories for you.

Samuel Deduno – Min: (0.9%) Deduno has allowed two runs over his last three starts spanning 19.1 innings. He has struggled with control at times and hasn’t picked up up a ton of strikeouts, but his 3-0 record and .218 BAA support a solid 2.48 ERA on the year. He and the Twins visit the struggling Indians and Deduno appears to be in line for another good start.

Wade LeBlanc – Mia: (0.3%) LeBlanc is still just stretching into a starter’s role but looked solid in his 4.1 innings in his first start picking up three strikeouts against the Braves while allowing five hits and one earned run. He should be able to go a big longer in this one game and will try to continue his great season so far. In his 12 games he’s 1-1 with a 1.00 WHIP and  a 1.35 ERA. It remains to be seen if he can stretch that out over longer periods of time but gets a nice matchup with the Mets in Citi Field for his start Tuesday.

Blake Beavan – Sea: (2.6%) Beavan has improved dramatically over his last three starts allowing five runs over 22.1 innings. He’s face the Rays, Royals, and Blue Jays in those three starts and now will get the Orioles as he looks to improve to 8-6 on the year. His ERA for the season is still 5.06 but his recent results show he can help if your pitching staff is already struggling.
