Last night in the NBA there were eight games on the schedule and only one home team emerged with a win. Road teams went 7-1, but some of the best teams in the league had to storm back to get the win. The Thunder and Heat both needed big finishes form their stars to get wins at Detroit and Houston respectively. The Mavs and Blazers continued to struggle losing at home, and the Celtics got a big win in Chicago behind another big night from Rajon Rondo.

Here’s the top five fantasy stars who had monster nights and five sleepers from last night’s action that are worth knowing about if you’re looking on the waiver wire for some help:

Starting 5 Fantasy Basketball Stars

1. LeBron James-Miami Heat: James played 40 minutes in the Heat 113-110 victory over Houston. James finished with a league-high 38 points with 10 boards and six assists. James is the number one fantasy player for a reason.

2. Brandon Jennings-Milwaukee Bucks: In his best game of the season, Jennings had 33 points, four steals, eight assists, five rebounds, and a pair of blocks. He bounced back big-time from his woeful 1-11 shooting performance Saturday against the Celtics and helped the Bucks get a nice road win in Phily. He’s still a little hot and cold, but Jennings can really turn it on in games like this one.

3. Rajon Rondo-Boston Celtics: Rondo was just a rebound shy of a triple-double as he finished with 20 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. He added a handful of steals and ran his streak of double-digit assist games to 31.

4. Paul Millsap-Utah Jazz: Millsap played 44 minutes in the triple-OT game north of the border and finished with 34 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks. Millsap has been in double-digits in scoring in all but one of his games this year and is averaging  15.6 points and 9.4 rebounds a game and has three double-doubles.

5. DeMar DeRozan-Toronto Raptors: DeRozan played a whopping 60 minutes in the Raptors triple-overtime game and scored 37 points to keep the game going while adding eight boards, six assists, and two steals. While Kyle Lowry is sidelined, DeRozan will be asked to pick up the scoring slack and now has 19+ in five of his last six games.

Other Stars who delivered: Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Chris Bosh, Al Jefferson, Mo Williams.

1. Jose Calderon-Toronto Raptors: Calderon is unowned in half of ESPN leagues and has put up back-to-back double-doubles in the absence of Kyle Lowry. He had 20 points and 17 assists last night with a pair of three-pointers, three steals, and two rebounds. His role as starting poing guard is likely to be short-lived but while he’s getting this much time he’s a good pick-up.

2. J.J. Hickson-Portland Trailblazers: Hickson had a season-high 19 points last night to go with a season-high 18 rebounds against the visiting Hawks. He added a pair of steals and a block in his 33 minutes. He’s been in double-digits rebounding in six of his seven games and is averaging 11.7 boards and 11.4 points so far this season. He may eventually lose his starting spot, but for now he’s a solid addition in the 25% of  leagues he’s available especially if you’re in need of big-time boards.

3. Brandon Bass-Boston Celtics: Bass has been in and out of the Celtics lineup but consistently contributing around 30 minutes a game. He finished last night with 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal. He’s owned in only 42.4% and has four games remaining this week so grab him while you can for the rest of this week.

4. Chandler Parsons-Houston Rockets: Parons is only 32.5% owned and is off to a solid start in Houston. He had a season-high 25 points last night and added four rebounds, three assists, two steals, and five three-pointers. Parsons is not a standout in any one category but contributes across the board and plays big minutes for Houston. In his seven games he’s averaging 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 12.3  points.

5. Dorell Wright-Philadelphia 76ers: The Sixers could use a boost from Wright’s shooting and he’s hit four three’s in each of his last two games and scored 14 points last night. He’s also contributing in steals (four last night) and rebounds (averaging 6.4). Wright is owned in less than 40% of leagues but can shore up your bench in points, three’s, and steals if he continues is his current role in Phily.
