It was expected and now it is official. ESPN is reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs have reached an agreement with Andy Reid to become the team’s next head coach. Lawyers are currently reviewing the deal and an announcement is expected to happen in the coming hours.

For the past 24 hours a deal between Reid and the Chiefs was considered “imminent,” so it was just a matter of time for the deal to get sorted out.

Reid is now expected to push for a reunion with former Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles general manager Tom Heckert in Kansas City or bring in Green Bay Packers Director of College Scouting John Dorsey. Reid will join forces with the man who joins him in Kansas City and put their minds together when the Chiefs have the first pick in April’s draft.
