Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that change was coming in Big D and he wasn’t kidding. The first casualty was running backs coach Skip Peete and now a bigger name has taken the fall. Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has been fired, per Brian Castillo of ESPN Dallas and the New York Post.

The Cowboys defense got off to a hot start, but they had a significant drop off in production after some injuries to key members of the defensive unit.

Before you get any ideas of a Ryan brothers reunion in New York, be sure to know that Jets defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman will be promoted to defensive coordinator in New York, per multiple reports.

Ryan can likely find another coordinator job this offseason, but he will most likely be headed to a team with less defensive talent than Dallas.
