The Super Bowl XLVII machup against Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens will be just the tenth start of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s career. Despite his lack of starting experience in the league and shortage of high pressure games, Kaepernick is saying that he isn’t the least bit nervous leading up to next Sunday.

Kaepernick and the 49ers touched down in New Orleans Sunday night and the players were available to the media. While speaking with the media, Kaepernick made it clear that he is not feeling any extra pressure.

“I’ve said this before: Pressure, I feel like, comes from lack of preparation. This isn’t going to be a pressure situation, it is going to be a matter of going out there and performing physically,” Kaepernick said.

As for the preparation, Kaepernick says that the team is doing nothing out of the ordinary to prepare for the Super Bowl. They are sticking to routine.

“The same routine we had when we were back in San Francisco,” said Kaepernick. “Just a bigger plane.”

Kaepernick will need to stay calm, cool and collected if he is going to be the man leading San Francisco to their sixth Super Bowl title. It would be understandable if the nerves pick up as he big game nears, but Kaepernick seems ready to on the Ravens and the national stage without an extra ounce of nerves.
