Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Watch & Box Score Breakouts-February 4

If you were two wrapped up in your Super Bowl preparations or partyings to get to the NBA box scores yesterday, don’t worry; we got you covered. There were only three games yesterday as hoops took a back seat to the Har-bowl in New Orleans. For your fantasy team though, there were some results you should be aware of if you’re looking to make some moves.

Eric Bledsoe-LA Clippers

Bledsoe had been filling in decently for the injured CP3 and had been picked up in 60.9% of ESPN leagues before last night’s game. Bledsoe exploded against the Celtics with 23 points, 10 assists, seven boards, two steals, and a block. If he is still available in your league, pick him up and plug him into your lineup for as long as Paul is sidelined. In the last five Bledsoe has started he’s averaging 12.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 2.2 steals. His value drops when CP3 is back, but until then Bledsoe is a must start in all formats.

Earl Clark-LA Lakers

With Dwight Howard out with an injury, Clark started alongside Pau Gasol last night in Detroit and played 42 minutes. He finished with his second consecutive double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and an assist. Over his last five he’s averaging 13.2 points and 8.8 boards while playing an average of 33.2 minutes while making at least one three-pointer per game and averaging 1.6. It’s crazy that he’s still only owned in 26.2% of leagues, and he makes a nice pickup headed into the coming week. As long as he starts, he’s a viable fantasy option

Will Bynum-Detoit Pistons

Visa issues continued to keep Jose Calderon sidelined giving Bynum continued opportunity which he seized last night against LA. He finished with 18 points and 10 assists in his 29 minutes off the bench. He’s owned in under 3% of ESPN leagues and could see his playing time cut dramatically when Calderon is cleared to play, but until then He makes a decent one-game option. Calderon isn’t expected to be ready for tomorrow, so Bynum is a decent play against the Knicks if you need a bargain option.

Jason Terry-Boston Celtics

Terry is still available in over half of ESPN leagues and looks to be in more of a facilitator role with the injury to Rajon Rondo. In the three games since the Rondo injury, Terry has played 22, 28, and 31 minutes with 4, 5, and 6 assists to go with 12, 12, and 13 points. He probably will stay around 15 and 5 for the forseeable future unless he’s inserted into the starting lineup or sees a big uptick in playing time. His numbers are useful particularly if you need assists, but they aren’t spectacular or Rondo-like by any stretch of the imagination.

Aaron Gray-Toronto Raptors

Gray continues to start for the Raps alongside Amir Johnson and new-acquisition Rudy Gay. Last night he only played 23  minutes but still managed 12 boards to go with his six points. He’s had double-digit rebounds in his last four games and should continue to be an asset in boards for the coming week. His scoring is inconsistent but he has averaged 10.8 over his last four thanks mostly to the 22 points he scored against Golden State last Monday. He’s owned in under 2% of leagues but is a rebounding option if you’re scouring the waiver wire for boards.
