Arkansas Razorbacks Announce 2013 Football Recruiting Class

The Arkansas Razorbacks had an interesting time on National Signing Day. One of the recruits, Alex Collins, was expected to sign with the Razorbacks, but his mother swiped his National Letter of Intent and took off. He had to cancel his announcement, but it is believed that Collins will still commit to Arkansas in the coming days.

Despite the Collins fiasco, new head coach Bret Bielema had a successful class.

“First and foremost, you have to be an athlete that will fit here in Arkansas, no matter where you are coming” Bielema said. “I wanted those players to fit what Arkansas is, and it’s really important to me. They have to believe in the family. If I am going to get them here and talk about the Arkansas football family, I didn’t want them to not know any idea of what that meant.

“It’s natural that good players are going to play good football in year one, but they are going to play their best football in year four and year five. This means they are going to have to go through their entire timeline here, graduate to give them a degree that they are going to have for the rest of their life.  I thought that was an important part to establish.”
