After shooting seven over par through eight hole on Friday morning, World number one Rory McIlroy withdraws from The Honda Classic. Out of character, McIlroy hit his drive in the water on the 18th hole, and after making a drop, hit his second in the water as well. He picked up his clubs, and left the golf course citing he was having pain in his wisdom tooth, and could not continue.

Rory began his day on the back nine, and the trouble started right away at the 11th hole where he made double bogey on the par 4. He is listed on the PGA Leaderboard as having made bogeys at 13 and 17, but The Golf Channel has been reporting a triple bogey 7 at the 13th hole. I suppose at this point, it doesn’t matter.

It appeared on Thursday that he was getting his swing back together after struggling with his new equipment. He was headed to the clubhouse at -2 under par on the day, but picked up a double bogey 7 at the 18th hole. He finished at even par for the day. Rory Missed the cut at Abu Dhabi in the debut with his new clubs, and lost in the first round of the Accenture Match Play last week to his buddy from Northern Ireland, Shane Lowry. Lowry attempted to qualify for the Honda Classic, but came up one stroke short.
