NFL Free Agency Rumors: Greg Jennings to Hit Open Market

There was some chatter in the afternoon leading up to Monday’s NFL franchise tag deadline that the Green Bay Packers could choose to use the franchise tag on wide receiver Greg Jennings. Using the franchise tag likely would have been used to buy the team more time to complete a trade for the veteran wideout, but the $10.537 million figure for wide receivers was a bit too rich for the Packers liking.

It is a very solid free agent wide receiver close, so the age of Jennings could potentially hurt the market for his services with the younger, more dynamic options in free agency.
