Once considered to be a top 10 pick, California wide receiver Keenan Allen is watching in horror as a PCL sprain has caused his draft stock to take a serious fall. In an effort to recoup as much value as he can, Allen will be meeting with renowned knee specialist Dr. James Andrews to get a medical green light out to scouts.

There is some fear that further problems will be found when Dr. Andrews looks over Allen’s knee, but the hope in Allen’s camp is that everything will check out and Allen will be ready to go for his Pro Day on April 9th.

Allen’s recovery from a torn PCL has been unusually long which has caused many teams to drop him n their draft boards. Once a lock as a late-first round pick, some mocks have dropped Allen out of the first round. However, there is a chance that he can rebound well enough to hold onto his late first round status.

One thing hurting his status is the fact that he had to skip working out at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month, but after meeting with Dr. Andrews, Allen is going to hold his Pro Day later in April in an effort to leave a lasting impression of his talent.

Hopefully for Allen, the knee issue is cleared up and he impresses at the last possible moment. Holding his Pro Day in April has massive downsides, but the upside is that if he wows, his Pro Day will be fresh in the minds of scouts and could help restore some of his draft value.
