Buffalo Bills Release Ryan Fitzpatrick
By Josh Sanchez
The Buffalo Bills needed to make a decision on quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick before he was set to earn a $3 million roster bonus tomorrow and they did so quickly. After asking Fitzpatrick to take a pay cut which he refused, the team decided to give him his walking papers.
The release comes as no surprise, especially after hearing the recorded phone conversation with Bills general manager Buddy Nix when he said the team was “handcuffed” by Fitzpatrick’s contract and that it made it hard to make any moves.
Fitzpatrick has thrown at least 23 touchdowns in each of the past three seasons. He is a very reliable back up for a team that is in need of a veteran who could step in for spot starting duties.
