The Denver Broncos big splash on Wednesday came when they were able to steal free agent wide receiver Wes Welker from the New England Patriots by locking him up to a two-year, $12 million contract. Now, as the dust is settling from the Welker move, the Broncos have made another signing that could prove to be a very under-the-radar, but incredibly successful move.

John Elway was once again busy breaking the news (man, you have to love Twitter):

Hopefully for the Broncos, Del Rio will be able to keep Knighton motivated.

Knighton was a third-round pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009 and was named to the NFL’s All-Rookie Team. At just 26-years-old, he has a lot of talent and untapped potential. This could turn out to be another great move by the Broncos.
