The free agent cornerback market has been slow to take off, but we have a signing at the position Wednesday morning. The Detroit Lions, who are in desperate need of secondary help, made a big decision to re-sign their free agent defensive back Chris Houston. Houston was the team’s top cover corner and it would have been a major blow for the team if they lost him.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network was first to report the news:

Houston’s agent confirmed the news. Financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

The signing is just the latest by Detroit when it comes to retaining their own free agents. However, that could all change with Reggie Bush, Glover Quinn and Jason Jones in the mix today.
