Wes Welker, Denver Broncos in Serious Talks

The New England Patriots and wide receiver Wes Welker have been at a standstill after contract negotiations for the free agent have been nowhere close to what Welker would like to see. A report surfaced earlier that Welker was considering looking at other options and now there is a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Denver Broncos are in serious discussions to snag Welker from the Patriots.

If Welker is truly unhappy with the Patriots, he could stick it to the organization by going to join former nemesis Peyton Manning in Denver with the current AFC favorites.

This could be a move that comes back to haunt the Patriots, if Welker is able to go to a new team and find a contributing role in the slot. I’m not much of a fan of Welker in other systems, but the Broncos give him the best opportunity to succeed outside of New England.
