San Francisco 49ers Interested in Former West Virginia Star Pat White

Former West Virginia Mountaineers star and Miami Dolphins quarterback Pat White fizzled out of the league after never being able to find his stride as a NFL signal-caller, but he’s looking to make a comeback. White conducted a workout after the West Virginia Pro Day and he was able to do enough to attract additional attention.
According to White, San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was interested enough in what he saw that he called up White to schedule a private workout.
“Coach and I had a conversation about me coming in to work out,” White said, via Jim Corbett of USA Today. “We haven’t set up a formal date. I’m just going to make sure I keep working hard for when that day comes.
“I pay attention to how his players react to Coach Harbaugh. They all want to win for him. And he seems to treat them how they want to be treated. I’m excited to get to know him on that level — if I do get that opportunity. I’m very optimistic about making it back to the NFL.”
White would be a good camp body for the 49ers and once you get into camp anything is possible.
It’s highly unlikely that White will be given an opportunity to contribute in the capacity that he is hoping for, but you have to respect the man for working hard enough to earn himself a second shot.
