A chunky four iron golf shot, and a phenomenal nine iron at the very difficult 10th hole(The Camilla) at Augusta, was the difference between getting a new Green Jacket, and catching a plane for the East Indies. 2010 British Open Champion, Louis Oosthuizen has to be coming to Augusta next week with a bit of a chip on his shoulder about his lost opportunity last April.

It would have been the second Masters victory in a row for a South African, and the third in five years. Trevor Immelman won a Green Jacket in 2008, and Charl Schwartzel in 2011.

After finishing the 2012 season with a fifth place finish at the DP World Tour Championships Dubai, the 31-year-old Oosthuizen has one victory in 2013, that coming at The Volvo Championship back in January. He has hit a slow down since the win, with a T 35 at the Qatar  Masters, and a T 33 finish at the WGC-Cadillac at Doral. He was ousted in the third round at the Match Play Championships. He is currently ranked sixth in the OWGR’s, and is sixth in Race for Dubai points.

On the PGA Tour, Oosthuizen had a decent 10th place finish at The Shell Houston Open last week, but missed cuts in Florida at the Honda Classic, and The Tampa Bay Championship.

I look for Louis Oosthuizen to come into Augusta looking for revenge. He is my sentimental pick for Masters week, but if he is to reclaim his jacket, he will have to pick up his game a bit. He either hasn’t found much consistency in 2013, or he just doesn’t play well in Florida. He has to be still scratching his head over the loss to Bubba Watson last year.
