The Dallas Cowboys have had well-documented struggles along the offensive line, and it appears that the team is finally getting ready to do something about the problem. With Doug Free’s future with the team in doubt, the Cowboys are looking at the top free agent right tackle on the market. According to a Pro Football Talk report, the Cowboys are discussing a potential contract with free agent Eric Winston.

If Winston ends up signing in Dallas, you can guarantee that Free’s days with the team are over.

It was surprising when the Kansas City Chiefs decided to release Winston, but their decision could end up being a blessing for the Cowboys.

Winston would provide an excellent bookend opposite former first-round draft pick Tyron Smith and give the Cowboys $100 million quarterback Tony Romo the protection that he has been seeking.

If a deal comes to fruition, Cowboys fans will be very pleased with the decision. I think it would be a home run acquisition for the team.
