The 2013-14 NFL regular-season schedule was expected to be released on April 16, but it now looks like the announcement could be delayed. Pro Football Talk was informed that the schedule release date could be pushed back closer to April 25, the first day of the NFL Draft.

The report also points out that an NFL Network special for the schedule release on April 16 was removed from the program guide.

Whether it is just a coincidence or something more, it is important to note. The NFL Network is obviously owned by the league, so they would be tipped off to remove the program from their schedule if there was any real indication that the schedule release would be delayed.

We would expect an official announcement from the league in the coming days. They are running out of time to release the schedule, so they should begin to move swiftly.

For now, hold off on your schedule release party, because you may need to adjust your schedule.
