There have been some hang ups in a trade between the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it still looks like both sides are willing to move forward and find a way to work out a deal. On Wednesday afternoon, ESPN’s Adam Schefter gave some new hope to those Buccaneers fans that would love their team to land the league’s best corner.

Here is the report:

If a trade does go down, it makes the most sense for it to take place when the Buccaneers are on the clock next week.

That would allow both sides to watch how the draft is playing out and determine if it is in the best interest for their franchise moving forward.

For the Jets, it is a no-brainer. It is highly unlikely that Revis will re-sign with the team next year and he is ineligible to be slapped with the franchise tag. For the Buccaneers, they could use the first-round selection on a dynamic young player that could help the team for years to come, so they really need to determine whether or not the big investment in Revis will be worth it.

In just over a week we will see how this all plays out, but for now it looks like the trade will be going down.
