The New York Giants select Tank Carradine from Florida State.

The Giants are staring all of the draft’s top 4-3 LBs in the face in this mock draft scenario, and that’s certainly a route they could look along with Alabama’s D.J. Fluker, but Carradine may be too enticing to pass on at this point. He is an extremely athletic pass rush prospect who fits what the Giants like to do in the early portion of the draft, and that’s take the best available player.

There are some who think Carradine would have been a lock for the top five had he not gotten hurt this past year, and with the loss of Osi Umenyiora and the poor season from Justin Tuck, the Giants could be in the market for a new pass rusher opposite Jason Pierre-Paul. Carradine has a great burst off the snap, and a natural instinct for finding the quarterback.

Had it not been for an injury to Brandon Jenkins, he may never have gotten a chance to start. There is the fear that he could be a one year wonder, but the Giants took a risk on Pierre-Paul and that worked out really well for them. This would be a solid pickup for the G-men.

Here is how the draft currently stands:

1. Kansas City Chiefs — Eric Fisher, offensive tackle, Central Michigan
