The Pittsburgh Penguins are happy to welcome star center Sidney Crosby back to the starting line up today for the first time since March 30. Crosby suffered a broken jaw after taking a shot from teammate Brooks Orpik to the jaw and he was forced to have surgery to repair the injury. Finally, he is back.
While Crosby is returning for game two of the Penguins series against the New York Islanders, he is set to wear a fascinating helmet that features a protective guard over the jaw.

The mask may look silly, but it is something that the Penguins and Crosby need to be comfortable with as a precautionary measure.
If Crosby would take the smallest of hits, he would likely be injured again and out for the remainder of the postseason. Instead, he will be able to avoid injury and stay on the ice for the remainder of the playoffs.
