Houston Texans running back Arian Foster burst onto the scene in 2010, becoming an undrafted sensation for the Texans and their answer for a franchise running back. Many doubted this and dubbed it a one-hit wonder, but Foster fired back in 2011 with a stellar follow-up campaign and helped the Texasn reach the playoffs as AFC South Champions.

He didn’t have great success in 2012, but the Texans still made the postseason as division champs and lasted until the second round. Still, Foster is looking to improve on his 2012 campaign and is telling fans that he’s expecting to bounce back this season and return to producing like he did his first two years in the league.

“I’ve just been relaxing and working really hard,” Foster said, via FOX Sports Southwest’s Patti Smith. “I think this has probably (been) one of my most intense training offseasons I’ve had since I’ve been in the NFL. I just want to bounce back. I didn’t feel like I had the best season last year.”

Despite having what Foster dubs a bad year, the running back made it to his their consecutive Pro Bowl while leading the entire league in touchdowns. Foster also finished second in the AFC in totals yards with 1,421 on the season.

“I set a lot of personal goals, a lot of things that I do,” Foster said. “I just didn’t feel like I was at my best, and it’s gonna change this year.”

One problem that many want to see cleared up is Foster’s heart. He was taken out of a few games last year including the Texans Wild Card win over the Cincinnati Bengals due to what doctors called an irregular heartbeat. Foster has brushed this off, but it’s something that will need to be monitored throughout the training camp as it’s an issue that can set Foster back quite a bit in his goals for 2013.

Still, Foster seems motivated to continue to be a true leader for the Texans. While he turned in a season that many running backs would be proud of Foster wants more and Houston will be so much more dangerous because of it.
